What is YoKi Yoga?
YoKi Yoga is a systemized program designed to foster optimal health, well-being, learning readiness, and social emotional development, utilizing the techniques of yoga, creative movement and mindful awareness. The philosophy is based on the view that each child has multiple intelligences and deserves a chance to develop their full potential for happiness, strength, coordination, and the ability to relate themselves and others in a healthy way.
Why Yoki Yoga?
Our work is scientifically, spiritually and evidence based. It matters that people be their best selves; learn how to manage stress and life challenges.
YoKi Yoga is a top-down and bottom-up approach that fosters healthy environments inside and outside the classroom. The World evolving depends on each child and that children can create this world in a healthy, sustainable way.
What makes Yoki Yoga different from the other yoga schools?
To be effective in supporting a child to grow healthy, we believe that we must bring awareness and consciousness to the main agents involved in this task. Yoki Yoga is committed to support and empower the world's teachers, parents, children and caregivers with health, wellness and yoga based educational programs. We provide quality trainings, workshops and programming to create the experience of well-being and peace. We believe peace is possible, and that the children of today will be the ones to lead us into a new paradigm tomorrow.
How Yoki Yoga built its methodology?
Our yoga foundation is supported by a scientific and evidence-based methodology, which uses Conscious Discipline from Dr. Becky Bailey, Ph.D., as well many other resources from experts like Dr. Carla Hannaford, Ph.D, Dr. Eric Jensen, Ph.D, and organizations like Heart Math and Brain Gym.
How are the yoga classes for kids?
The classes provide a safe, fun and engaging environment to guide children in a systematic exploration of body, movement, inner awareness, focus and attention. Children are encouraged to integrate what they discover and learn about their own mind-body connection, strength, coordination and flexibility. Classes engage children in a process of learning, inquiry and self-discovery. Exercises that address multiple intelligences are utilized, through breathing, physical poses, music, creative imagination and creative expression. Story telling, story acting, games, art books and toys support the exploration. In addition, there is time to slow down and integrate what has been discovered about their inner feelings and the awareness of self and others.
